1. (C) P/E Chief delivered reftel demarche September 15 to
Ambassador Muhammad al Khusaibi, the Chief of the American Affairs
Department of the Omani MFA. Al Khusaibi indicated his concern and
sympathy and promised to seek action.
2. (C) The DCM, on a separate visit to the MFA the same day, also
delivered the message to Muhammad al-Hassan, chief of staff to
Yusuf bin Alawi, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs. Al
Hassan noted that the Minister has delivered similar points before
and would do so again.
