SUBJECT: Oman Accedes to 1961 Convention Aboloshing the Requirement
of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents
By Royal Decree No. 47/2009 issued on August 9, Oman acceded to the
1961 Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization
for Foreign Public Documents. The Decree was immediately effective.
Information has not yet been made public on how the Convention's
provisions will be implemented under Omani law. The accession
brings the total states party to the Convention to 98.
