name. ANSARI was held in prison for several years while under
trial. He and two others were sentenced to death by hanging on
08/07/2009 under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) for
planting RDX bombs at the Gateway of India and Zaveri Bazaar in
Mumbai on August 25, 2003 that killed 52 people and injured 244.
He and two others were also charged with planting a bomb on a
bus at Ghatkopar on July 28, 2003 that killed 2 people and
injured another 60 and planting another bomb on a bus that
failed to detonate in Santa Cruz, Mumbai on December 2, 2002.
The convicted are appealing to the Mumbai High Court.
b. SYED, Haneef, DOB XX/XX/1962 or 1963; - aka SYED, Hanif.
Passport No. Q548661, Issued 10/15/1980. Passport No. P468148,
Issued 09/11/1993. SYED, Haneef was held in prison for several
years while under trial. He and two others were sentenced to
