1. (C) Poloff raised Reftel with Julian Juarez Cadenas, the
Secretariat of Foreign Affairs' (SRE) Director General for
Nuclear, Security, and Legal Issues, expressing concern about
Iran's perpetuation of its nuclear program. Poloff requested
that the GOM discreetly raise reftel points with the Iranian
government during UNGA and meetings on the margins with
related blocs, such as the NAM. Cadenas took note of this
request and said that SRE representatives would be likely to
do so.
