Ambassador Robert Nolan delivered reftel demarche to Minister of
Foreign Affairs Kenneth Tsekoa on October 23, 2009. Tsekoa
indicated that Lesotho is very interested in participating in
any food security programs, given the critical nature of hunger
issues in Lesotho. New initiatives will be welcomed as very
timely, given a recent assessment that approximately 500,000
Basotho, over 25% of the country's population, are facing food
insecurity. Post will advise of any substantive follow-up
received.
