1. Total amount of USD 43,000 Democracy and Human Rights funds
allocated to Maseru has been obligated in its entirety. The
agreement date for the following projects is September 16, 2009.


2. Project Details:


A. DHRF II-632-09-001: Lesotho Council of Non-Governmental
Organizations for voter education campaigns prior to the Lesotho
April 2010 local government elections with the goal of
increasing the historically low voter turnout.

B. DHRF II-632-09-002: Ts'epong Counseling Center for
empowerment of women on their rights and prevention of
gender-based abuse.

C. DHRF II-632-09-003: Child and Gender Protection Unit for
printing of trafficking in persons education materials to raise
awareness of the issue.
Amount Obligated: $6,770

Emphasis on Abuse and Trafficking
Date of Obligation: September 16, 2009


D. DHRF II-632-09-004: Women and Law in Southern Africa
Research Trust (WLSA) will oversee training to be led by a
trafficking expert. The focus of the training is the
identification of victims of trafficking.
Amount Obligated: $3,000
Title: Training for law enforcement agencies on identifying and
supporting victims of trafficking.
Date of Obligation: September 16, 2009.
