The Government of Mozambique, represented by the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) in cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC),within the scope of actions identified for reaching the objectives set in the Tourism Policy and Strategy and in the Strategic Plan for Tourism Development, intends to launch a tender in the areas identified for tourism development in the Maputo Special Reserve. Accordingly, the site of Ponta Dobela has been identified for the development of an eco-tourism project in an area of up to 1,500 hectares. MITUR, acting as the tutelage Ministry seeks to develop a public-private partnership for the construction, financing and management of an eco-tourism project to be located at the area identified for such purpose. To ensure that the development of the site meets these objectives, it has been earmarked for investors with the basic competences and qualifications listed below. Interested parties are invited to express their interest in presenting proposals for the tender of the concession of Ponta Dobela. The conditions for pre qualification of Tourism Promoters or Operators are: -- Ownership structure in which Mozambican nationals hold a controlling interest; -- Established presence in Mozambique with a national tourism marketing, operational and sales capacity; -- Middle rate structures; -- Proven financial capacity; ¶8. Companies that fit the above profile should register their interest in writing by applying for the Request for Expressions of Interest, which must be submitted to the address given on Item 6B by February 27, 2009.
