(C) A/DCM met with MFA International Organizations Director
Fouad Darwish on June 3 to deliver refel points. Darwish had
not yet seen a copy of the EU's draft resolution and said he
would speak with Bahrain's delegation in Geneva before making
any recommendation to the Minister's office. He expressed
concern that the issue of the Special Rapporteur be kept
separate from that of the International Criminal Court
indictment against President Bashir. Doing so would,
according to Darwish, keep the focus on the humanitarian
crisis and increase the chances of passing the resolution.
