1. (C) Per reftel, CDA informed Bahrain's MFA Friday
morning, January 16, that the U.S. intended to sign an MOU
with Israel to address the problem of weapons transfers to
terrorists in Gaza. Shaikh Abdulaziz undertook to brief the
foreign minister immediately, and asked that we share any
details we can on the role that USG personnel would play
under the MOU, as that would influence street reactions.
2. (U) Septel reports Emergency Action Committee meeting.
