1. (U) Charge d'affaires alerted Foreign Minister Asselborn
and Political Director Georges Frieden of the substance of
this demarche upon initial notification from British Embassy
DCM Amanda Ross and the Department on October 19. Addtional
background was then provided to working level contacts at the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of the Interior, and
security services. MFA Bureau Director Yuriko Backes reported
on October 26 that "the appropriate Luxembourg authorities
have been notified."
2. (U) Charge Biedlingmaier and DCM Ross plan to follow-up
with host-government POL-MIL contacts and will advise the
Department and HM's Treasury as additional
information/reaction is received.
