(SBU) On September 11, President Rupiah Banda told the Ambassador that he would be delighted to attend the September 22 POTUS lunch for sub-Saharan African heads of state. ¶2. (U) President Banda's official title is His Excellency Mr. Rupiah Bwezani Banda, President of the Republic of Zambia. When addressed, his middle name is usually omitted. His name is otherwise pronounced "ROO-pe-ah Bwe-ZAH-nee BAHN-da." ¶3. (SBU) President Banda does not have any dietary restrictions nor will he require translation assistance. Zambia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Lazarous Kapambwe, will serve as a point of contact for President Banda, who will arrive in New York on September 19.
