1. (C) Emboff delivered reftel demarche to Gaja Peric,
counselor in the MFA's security policy division, on March 27,
and encouraged contributions to the key deliverables for the
NATO summit (ref A). Peric confirmed Slovenia's prior
decision to send ten additional troops to contribute to
security ahead of the August elections in Afghanistan (ref
B). She noted that the government was discussing whether to
make any further contributions of financial assistance,
equipment, or humanitarian aid. She added that the ministry
is following closely the U.S. strategic review.
