1. (SBU) Urska Potocnik, advisor in the MFA's international
development and humanitarian assistance division, confirmed
to emboff March 12 that the Slovene government would provide
146,000 euros to Slovenian NGOs for assistance to Gaza, as
pledged at the Sharm El Sheikh conference (reftel A). She
noted that most of the funding would go to the International
Trust Fund for Demining and Victim Assistance (ITF) for
rehabilitating wounded Gazan children. Slovenska
Filantropia, an NGO specializing in assistance for children,
would also have a significant role. Potocnik said she had
received the same powerpoint presentation as provided to
PM/WRA by ITF representatives on March 2, but had not gotten
any further details about the ITF-led project.
