(C) Econoff delivered reftel demarche to Ministry of Foreign
Affairs' Security Policy Division official Borut Valencic on
November 25. The Security Policy Division covers
multilateral institutions, including the IAEA. Valencic was
well aware of the situation regarding the Tehran Research
Reactor (TRR),P5 1, and the IAEA Director General's report.
He said that Slovenia supports the U.S. position, and that
Ljubljana's policies are in line with Washington's, including
the dual track policy of engagement and pressure. Although
Valencic is unable to attend the November 26 IAEA Board of
Governors' meeting, he said the Slovenian Government looks
forward to closer cooperation with the United States on this
issue.
