Slovenia confirmed its first case of H1N1 influenza on Friday, June 19. The case is a young woman who had recently returned from a trip to New York. The woman is being treated with Tamiflu and did not remain in the hospital over the weekend. She is recovering well at home, and those she was in contact with have tested negative for the virus. Of the 29 samples tested so far in Slovenia, this is the first confirmed case of H1N1 flu. ¶2. The Institute of Public Health, Ministry of Health and the Clinic for Infectious Diseases in Ljubljana gave a press conference and stated that they are monitoring the situation and are in constant contact with the European Monitoring Center for Disease Control and the World Health organization. ¶3.
