1. Between November 2 and November 8 Portugal diagnosed 14,111 new
cases with flu symptoms. ONE hundred twenty-one patients remain
hospitalized, including seventeen in intensive care. Portugal has
seven confirmed H1N1 fatalities to date.
2. The three latest fatalities include a 10 year-old boy and two men
in their fifties. All three had previous HEALTH problems that were
aggravated by H1N1.
3. The HEALTH Ministry confirmed the arrival of 32,000 additional
doses of vaccine last week. Some HEALTH centers began vaccinating
other priority groups, including chronically ill patients with
asthma, obesity, immunodeficiency, and respiratory disease, as well
as additional HEALTH care professionals.
