Reftel points were delivered on June 12 to Bento de Morais
Sarmento, Deputy Director of the Portuguese Economy
Ministry's Energy and Geology Department, who did not comment
on the U.S. vision for the International Renewable Energy
Agency (IRENA) mission but said Portugal supports the UAE as
the site for the IRENA headquarters. Portugal has signed the
IRENA statute, but Sarmento could not project a date for
ratification.
