Following are post's responses to reftel questions regarding budget
transparency in Peru:
-- The central Government of Peru (GOP) is already receiving U.S.
foreign assistance funded using FY 09 funds.
-- By law, the GOP is required to make its budget public. The GOP
complies with this law by publishing its budget on the Ministry of
Economy & Finance's website, in the federal register (El Peruano),
and elsewhere.
-- The publicly-available budget includes all incomes and
expenditures. Actual GOP incomes and expenditures are accurately
reflected in this budget.
