(SBU) We delivered reftel demarche on October 26 to Javier
Yepez, Director of UN and Multilateral Affairs at the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Yepez was pleased with the
USG's interest in joining the EU and Group of Latin American
and Caribbean Countries (GRULAC) consensus on the annual
resolution on the rights of the child and with the renewed
efforts to ratify the corresponding Convention. Yepez said
the MFA welcomed this and other USG priority shifts within
UNGA. Post will report any further response via septel.
