1. (C) Drawing on background and points provided, Embassy
delivered reftel demarche to Maryna Stroga Yermakova of the
MFA Department for Arms Control and Military Technical
Cooperation on October 6. Yermakova took notes during the
discussion and paid close attention to the information
provided, showing particular interest in the possibility of
another meeting between the partners and Iran, and in Iranian
commitments resulting from the October 1 meetings.
2. (C) Thanking the Embassy for the read out and our
transparent approach, Yermakova noted that Ukraine shares the
international commmunity's concerns about the newly revealed
enrichment facility near Qom. Ukraine does not have any plan
to issue a public statement at this time, but will continue
to support the P5 1 process and the dual track strategy. She
expressed GoU interest in further updates as they may become
available.
