1. (U) Per reftel, Charg???? delivered demarche on upcoming UNGA human rights resolutions on Iran and Burma. As directed, the Government of Jamaica (GOJ) was solicited to vote "no" on "no action" motions and "yes" on substantive resolutions highlighting human rights abuses in these countries. Demarche was delivered to Ambassador Evadne Coye, Permanent Secretary of the GOJ's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, on the afternoon of November 13. 2. (U) Ambassador Coye confirmed that GOJ would vote "no" on the "no action" motions and was undecided on their vote on the substantive resolutions.
