Post has received the following diplomatic note, dated 4 February 2009, from the Government of Jamaica (GoJ)'s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade (MFAFT): (begin text of diplomatic note 50/140/19) "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade presents its compliments to the/ Embassy of the United States of America and has the honour to announce the candidature of the Government of Jamaica for re-election to the International Maritime Organization (IMO),Category C, at elections to be held during the 26th Regular Session of the IMO Council, in London, from 19th to 20th November 2009. In this regard, the Government of Jamaica requests the valuable support of the Government of the United States of America for its candidature.
