MANDATE AT THE UN HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL

1. (SBU) Acting Political/Economic Chief delivered reftel talking
points to MFA American Affairs Director, Ambassador Nasreldin Wali,
on July 13. During a July 14 courtesy call, CDA Whitehead also left
a non-paper based on talking points with MFA Under Secretary Mutrif
Siddiq.
2. (SBU) Wali said he would share the U.S. position with the MFA
office responsible for the issue, the International Organizations
Department. He promised to inform the Embassy when a decision has
been made.
