(SBU) Charge delivered President Obama's invitation to a meeting to be held on September 23, during the UN General Assembly (UNGA),for the leaders of the top UN peacekeeper-contributing countries (Ref A) to Nepalese Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal. Rajan Bhattarai, the PM's foreign policy adviser, will formally confirm the PM's participation with post as soon as a decision is made. The PM expressed his gratitude for the invitation, which Charge extended at the beginning of a meeting on September 4 (septel). ¶2. (SBU) PM Nepal shared his tentative schedule for UNGA during a meeting with Charge on September 4. - September 21: Arrive in New York. - September 22: Attend climate change session. - September 23: Attend UK-sponsored event. - September 24: Speak at Columbia University. - September 25 or 26: Speak to members of the Nepali community. - September 26: Depart New York for Kathmandu via Doha to be home in time for an important Nepalese family holiday.
