1. (SBU) On June 22, Madan Bhattarai, Joint Secretary for UN
and International Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, told Emboff that the Government of Nepal would have
no problem supporting the U.S. candidate, Ms. Lucretia Myers,
for the UN International Civil Service Commission in the
election in October or November 2009 during the 64th UN
General Assembly. Emboff left a copy of the curriculum vitae
for Ms. Myers (as provided reftel) with Bhattarai.
