(SBU) Regarding the request by the Government of Pakistan for
assistance in identifying air assets (reftel),according to
the Defense Attach's Office, the Nepal Army (NA) has two
Mi-17 helicopters. However, usually only one is fully
mission capable at any given time. Furthermore, the NA
cannot afford to sell or lease any because this is its main
workhorse airframe. A private Nepali air carrier, Shree
Airlines, has five Mi-17s.
