(SBU) EmbOff raised reftel points with Ministry of Foreign
Affairs Acting Joint Secretary, Rudra Nepal, during a
December 4 meeting, and urged the Government of Nepal (GON)
to vote against the "defamation of religions" resolution at
the UN. Acting Joint Secretary Nepal said he was aware of
the resolution. While the GON has not made a final decision
on the resolution, Nepal noted that the GON has abstained on
similar resolutions in the past.
