In response to reftel demarche, Nepal's Ministry of Foreign
Affairs delivered a diplomatic note to the Embassy on
November 26 confirming that Nepal will support the U.S.
candidacy for the International Maritime Organization
Council. Text of the diplomatic note as follows:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Nepal presents
its compliments to the Embassy of the United States of
America in Kathmandu and, regarding the request for Nepal's
support to the Candidature of the United States of America
for membership of the International Maritime Organization at
the election to be held during the 26th session of the
Assembly in November 23-December 4, 2009, has the honour to
inform that the Government of Nepal has decided to extend its
support to the candidature of the United States of America.
