of Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary Ambassador James
Mugume on September 17. Amb. Mugume noted the Organization
of the Islamic Conference,s position on Kosovo, but said
Uganda would adhere to the African Union consensus not to
recognize break away states due to the precedent this could
set for Africa. Amb. Mugume said Uganda would nevertheless
be willing to listen if the Kosovo delegation requested a
meeting on the margins of the UNGA.
