Hussain Zaidi, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Ports and Shipping. His colleagues Joint Secretary Kamran Ali Qurashi and Director Captain Amjad Ali were also present. Zaidi said he believed that Pakistan was already implementing ISPS security level two, but would consult with the Acting Director General of Ports and Shipping in Karachi, Mr. Zafar Shaikh, to verify this. He was receptive to inviting a U.S. Coast Guard team to Pakistan, noting, however, that Mr. Shaikh would need to coordinate with the Ministry of the Interior, as the Pakistani Coast Guard was under the latter's jurisdiction.
