¶1. (S) On August 13, Econ/Pol Chief and EconOff delivered
reftel points to Hong Kong Trade and Industry Department
(TID),Strategic Trade Controls Principal Trade Officer Billy
Au. Au pointed out that, although the items were not
controlled by the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR),
TID would refer the request to the Hong Kong Customs and
Excise Department, the Hong Kong Government's export controls
enforcement arm, for possible investigation.
