Assistant Director for International Organizations Mai Phan Dzung
on September 17. Dzung, whose office handles UN and
non-proliferation issues, expressed appreciation for the
information regarding the U.S. position, and said he would convey
it to senior MFA officials. Dzung said that the GVN shares many of
the USG's concerns about Iran, but was non-committal when pressed
if the GVN would issue a public statement or deliver a private
message to Iranian officials.
