1. (U) Per reftel, PolChief delivered demarche on the
potential dangers of the "Defamation of Religions" resolution and
requested the Government of Guyana (GOG) to vote against or to
abstain on the resolution when it comes to the UNGA plenary session
for a final vote. Demarche was delivered to Ms. Barbara Haley,
Director of Multilateral and Global Affairs of the GOG's Ministry
of Foreign Affairs on the afternoon of December 8.
2. (U) Ms. Haley stated that the GOJ had voted for the
resolution in the Third Committee vote and informed PolChief that
GOG would again vote "yes" in the final vote in the plenary
session.
