Pol/Econ Chief delivered reftel demarche to Lebogang Diteko,
the Assistant Director of the Department of Europe and the
Americas at Botswana's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ms.
Diteko said that Botswana has not yet made any decisions
regarding recognition of Kosovo. She anticipated that her
colleagues at the Botswana UN Mission, if so requested, would
be willing to meet with a Government of Kosovo representative
"just to talk." Diteko noted that Botswana's UNGA delegation
this year would be lead by Ambassador Charles Ntwaagae, the
country's UN Permanant Representative, and that no high-level
GOB officials currently plan to travel to UNGA.
