The Government of Botswana has informed Embassy Gaborone that
President Khama will not/not be able to accept the invitation
to the lunch with Sub-Saharan African Heads of State to be
hosted by President Obama September 22 in New York.
President Khama is unable to leave Botswana at that time due
to election campaign commitments. Botswana's general
election will be held October 16, 2009.
