(S) Ambassador delivered reftel demarche to Minister of
Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Zainab Bangura
on March 16. Ambassador emphasized the need to adhere to UN
resolutions, and informed FoMin of searches in the region for
uranium supplies. Ambassador also reminded FoMin that
President Obama and Secretary Clinton wish to resolve issues
with Iran diplomatically. FoMin responded that she would
speak with the President about this issue as soon as
possible, likely on March 16 or 17. Post will provide
additional information septel, as available.
