1. (SBU) Summary: Per reftel, Post convened the Emergency
Action Committee (EAC) on January 8 to review our security
posture in advance of the potential USUN veto of Libya's
proposed draft resolution on Gaza. The EAC was chaired by
CDA, and attended by RSO, POL, MGMT, CONS, PAO, and Legatt.
End Summary.

2. (C) Post EAC met on January 8, 2009 and discussed
potential security risks to Embassy staff and American
citizens. The EAC determined that there is currently no
additional threat to U.S. personnel or facilities, and that
the no change to the current security posture is required.

3. (C) Small demonstrations were previously anticipated for
Friday January 9th, Saturday January 10th, and/or Sunday
January 11th. If such demonstrations occur, they will likely
be peaceful and pose no additional security risks.

4. (C) EAC determined that there is no need for a Consular
warden message at this time, but will continue to monitor the
situation.
