1. (SBU) In response to reftel demarche, Embassy received a
letter from the Qatar National Food Security Programme on
September 17 stating that Chairman Fahad Al-Attiyah and
members of his organization would attend the meeting to be
co-hosted by Secretary Clinton on September 26.
2. (SBU) The text of the letter follows:

Following the kind invitation from yourself and UN Secretary
General Ban Ki-Moon, I am writing to confirm that I will be
attending the meeting on Partnering for Food Security at the
Waldorf Astoria Hotel, New York, on the 26 September 2009,
along with members of my organisation.
As Head of the Qatari government's food security programme, I
very much look forward to discussing the issues at hand with
you, in what I am sure will be a most constructive meeting.
