1.(U) In response to ref A request, there is no current or pending
legislation in Djibouti that would criminalize same-sex
relationships. In this traditionally nomadic Muslim society, there
is effectively no public discussion of homosexuality, and such
sexual orientation is normally not openly acknowledged. There have
been no reports of persecution or harassment of persons based on
sexual orientation or gender identity.
