1.(U) Ambassador delivered reftel points to Foreign Minister
Mahmoud Ali Youssouf September 22. The Minister said Djibouti
would support the U.S. candidacy for "Category A" membership in the
International Maritime Organization (IMO) in view of the close
bilateral partnership between our two countries. Post will follow
up at the working level in MFA and the Ministry of Transport to
ensure that Youssouf's decision has been communicated throughout
the GODJ, and especially to those who will cast Djibouti's vote at
the IMO Assembly in November.
