Per reftel, on June 3 DCM met with Vicky Tchong, Secretary
General of Timor-Leste's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to urge
that Timor-Leste support re-election of Ms Lucretia Myers to the
UN International Civil Service Commission. We stressed Ms.
Myers' lengthy experience and the importance of this election to
the USG. Ms. Tchong undertook to coordinate the issue with
Timor-Leste's mission to the United Nations and with Foreign
Minister da Costa.
