Course, April 20-June 5, 2009
1. This is an action request. See para three.
2. The following candidate has been selected for participation in
the ATA - Explosive Incident Countermeasures Course in North
Carolina, USA, which will begin on April 20-June 5, 2009. Post
requests that vetting be completed by February 04, 2009 to provide
sufficient time for visa processing. Post requests the department
conduct Leahy vetting for the following candidates:
1. Name: Md. Sanowar Hossain
Rank/Position: Assistant Police Commissioner,
Unit: Detective Branch of Police
Date of Birth: 03/02/1976,
Place of Birth: Gazipur, Bangladesh
3. Post requests that the Department of State authorize post to make
the following statement to the relevant DOD units: "Embassy verifies
that the Department of State possesses no credible information of
gross violations of human rights by the above named individual or
unit."
4. Post Human Rights Officer is David Arulanantham, unclass
e-mail:arulananthamdp@state.gov.
5. COMMENT: Embassy has no information to indicate these
individuals or any units they have served in have been involved in
gross violations of human rights.
