COMMANDER FLAG COURSE IN USA, FEBRUARY 18 TO FEBRUARY 24, 2009
1. This is an action request. See para three.
2. The following candidate has been selected for participation in
the Combined Force Maritime Component Commander Flag Course in USA,
which will begin on February 18, 2009. Post vetting was completed
on January 11, 2009. Post requests that vetting be completed by
January 29, 2009 to provide sufficient time for processing. Post
requests the department conduct Leahy vetting for the following
candidate:
1. Name: Abu Taher Golam Mohammad Sarker
Rank: Captain, BN
Unit: Director Personnel Services, NHQ
Unit Location: Dhaka

Date of Birth: 05 January 1961

3. Post requests that the Department of State authorize post to make
the following statement to the relevant DOD units: "Embassy verifies
that the Department of State possesses no credible information of
gross violations of human rights by the above named individual or
unit."
4. Post Human Rights Officer is David Arulanantham, unclass
e-mail:arulananthamdp@state.gov.
5. COMMENT: Embassy has no information to indicate these
individuals or any units they have served in have been involved in
gross violations of human rights.
