1. This is an action request. See para three.
2. The following candidate has been selected for participation in
the Peace Support Operations Instructor Course (PSOIC) in
Bangladesh, which will begin on January 11, 2009.Post vetting was
completed on January 07, 2009. Post requests that vetting be
completed by January 11, 2009 to provide sufficient time for
processing. Post requests the department conduct Leahy vetting for
the following candidates:
1. Name: Syed Enamul Haque
Rank: Flight Lieutenant
Unit: 35 Squadron, Kurmitola,
Unit Location: Dhaka Cantonment
Personal Number: BD/8904
Date of Birth: 05 April 1982
Place of Birth: Tangail
3. Post requests that the Department of State authorize post to make
the following statement to the relevant DOD units: "Embassy verifies
that the Department of State possesses no credible information of
gross violations of human rights by the above named individual or
unit."
4. Post Human Rights Officer is David Arulanantham, unclass
e-mail:arulananthamdp@state.gov.
5. COMMENT: Embassy has no information to indicate these
individuals or any units they have served in have been involved in
gross violations of human rights.
