(SBU) MFA Africa Division Deputy Director Zuhura Bandala told
Poloff April 17 that Tanzania's strong position regarding
Madagascar, both within SADC and the AU, remained unchanged
(see ref a). She had no response to ref b demarche
suggestions that African pressure should be placed on donors
to Madagascar. Comment: While maintaining a firm line on
Madagascar, Tanzania is unlikely to approach donors about the
situation.
