According to Ministry of Energy and Minerals Commissioner for
Energy and Petroleum Bashir Mrindoko, Tanzania has no current
civil nuclear energy plans. Abraham Nyanda, Director General
of the Tanzania Atomic Energy Commission, told us that
although there are several private companies exploring for
uranium, primarily in southern Tanzania, commercially viable
deposits have not been confirmed.
