(SBU) In a May 12, 2009 conversation with the Ambassador (per
Ref A),Foreign Minister (ForMin) Ehouzou said that Benin
will respond formally and vote by the June 3 deadline in
favor of Kosovo's membership in the World Bank as it had done
for the May 6 vote on Kosovo's membership in the IMF. On May
11, the Ambassador had made the same point with MFA Deputy
Secretary General Hinvi who promised to raise the issue with
the ForMin on his return from the presidential inauguration
ceremony in South Africa. The Ambassador expressed
appreciation to both GOB officials for Benin's support on
this issue.
