We discussed reftel points twice on January 8 with Maria
Tranner, Head of Section in the MFA Office of UN and Global
Development Issues, urging Denmark to join us in efforts to
defeat Iran's candidacy. Tranner stated that she had
discussed the matter with the Danish UN mission as a result
of our initial conversation and had fully apprised the
mission of our specific concerns. She said the Danish
mission is now aware of our position and will coordinate the
Danish position with the Danish MFA later today or tomorrow.
