1. (SBU) Mouctar Diallo, the young leader of the New
Democratic Forces (NFD) party and one of the political
leaders beaten and arrested by security forces during the
violence on September 28, called A/DCM at 0130 local time to
report that all of the detained political leaders had just
been released from custody. Mouctar said that Prime Minister
Komara came to the clinic where the political leaders were
being treated and told them that he had come directly from
CNDD President Moussa Dadis Camara, who had ordered their
immediate release.

2. (SBU) According to Mouctar, three political leaders were
still at the clinic undergoing medical treatment: Cellou
Dalein Diallo (UFDG),Oury Bah (UFDG),and Jean-Marie Dore
(UPG). Mouctar confirmed that all of the leaders had been
severely beaten, but said that Cellou was worse off than the
rest. Mouctar had sustained serious, but not life
threatening injuries to his head and parts of his body.
