DESIGNATION OF DPRK ENTITIES SUBJECT TO ASSET FREEZE

1. (SBU) DCM delivered reftel demarche to Balamoussa Camara,
the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on
May 20. She thanked the DCM for the information, but was
noncommittal. She said she would communicate the USG's
message to the Guinean delegation in New York.
2. (SBU) COMMENT. Since the military coup d'etat on
December 23, 2008, the USG's bilateral relationship with
Guinea has been strained. The USG does not recognize the
ruling military junta and has suspended all but humanitarian
and election-related assistance. END COMMENT.
